The final day of the 2015-16 Premier League season is upon us. Week 38 is your last chance to make up ground in your FPL mini-leagues and push for your highest possible ranking. Read on for my fantasy Premier League tips to wrap up this season.
FOR: Jaime Vardy – 209 points (£7.4) – Yes, Leicester have the Premier League title wrapped up and Chelsea have looked better in recent weeks, but he’s my top pick as a forward for several reasons. Leicester have already proven that they are going to end this season with a whimper while Chelsea seem certain to have one foot on the beach. The biggest reason for Vardy as my pick, though, is his ego and the team’s desire to see him win the Golden Boot. Harry Kane has a much lighter load against already relegated Newcastle and his 25 goals imparted to Vardy’s 24 does make him favorite, but I believe his ego does give him an edge.
MID: Alexis Sanchez – 164 points (£11.1) – Alexis Sanchez has really turned around his season after a fairly slow start. In the last nine Premier League matches he has scored a total of seven goals and this weekend is a great chance to continue this trend. Not only do Arsenal play Aston Villa, but it is also their final home match of the season and a win could see them leap frog Tottenham for second, albeit only with a Spurs loss.
DEF: Nacho Monreal – 142 points (£5.8) – While Hector Bellerin (161 points at £6.5) was the go to Arsenal defender for most of the season Monreal is my pick due to his consistency and at a lower price tag than Bellerin. As mentioned above, Arsenal play Aston Villa at home and this is an excellent chance to pick up points by stacking Arsenal player, especially in midfield and defense.
GK: David De Gea – 140 points (£5.9) – With Watford’s recent drop off, Heurelho Gomes’ value isn’t what it once was. With Manchester United playing Bournemouth at home for the last match of the season, De Gea is a strong pick for a clean sheet.
FOR: Troy Deeney – 159 points (£5.3) – The rest of Watford’s team may be slacking off, but Deeney continues to put up points consistently.
MID: Yann M’Vila – 107 points (£4.8) – M’Vila is currently selected by less than 1% of teams making him a solid differential, something that he has been for several weeks. He’s been a consistent performer and his price tag leaves your FPL team open to bring in higher priced players.
DEF: Lamine Kone – 59 points (£4.3) – After last week’s performance there should be more interest, but he’s still only owned by 0.3% of teams. The only reason he’s not my top pick is the fact that Arsenal play Aston Villa and Gunners defenders are a must against that lineup.
GK: Artur Boruc – 108 points (£4.5) – Bournemouth travel to Manchester United to wrap up their season and this is a great chance for the Cherries to prove their Premier League worth. After all this is a United team that managed just 3 shots in midweek. If ever there’s a differential clean sheet in waiting, this is it. Just realize that this is a gamble for a clean sheet and not a great chance to get bonus points considering United’s lack of attacking threat.
That wraps up the week 38 FPL tips as well as completing the 2015-16 fantasy Premier League season. I do hope that you were able to meet your goals for this year and wish you good luck in the final day of matches. For the summer I do plan to review the past season and begin preparation for the 2016-17 season. You can also check out my work at Togga including their weekly rankings.
