Week 10 Premier League Scores and Highlights

Saturday, November 03, 2012

Manchester United 3 – 1 Arsenal

Check out the Premier League Predictions Match of the Week.

 Fulham 2 – 2 Everton

This should be a good match to watch. Both teams are pretty solid mid table teams with Everton attempting to push for a European place this year. Last weekend both teams managed draws with Fulham’s coming away to Reading and Everton’s at home to Liverpool. I’m predicting that this one will also end in a draw. Both teams have decent teams that should match up well against one another.

 Norwich City 1 – 0 Stoke City

I’m going to go ahead and predict a Norwich win here. Norwich has been getting some good results lately and has been showing a bit more promise than when they started the season. Stoke has continued to play a fairly typical defensive style, especially away from home. I can just see Norwich being able to nick a goal and keep Stoke out. I’m not so sure if they can keep the clean sheet, but it will be a close match either way.

 Sunderland 2 – 0 Aston Villa

Sunderland hasn’t played exactly great this year with only 1 win, but they also only have the one loss to Manchester City. Aston Villa, on the other hand, has one win, but 5 losses. I think this one should be the second win for Sunderland this season.

 Swansea City 2 – 2 Chelsea

Chelsea’s woeful defending recently will be their undoing as I’m predicting a draw for this one. Swansea very nearly got away with a draw against Manchester City last week, but I’m predicting that they will be able to convert their chances this weekend and get the draw. Chelsea will inevitably score, but Swansea’s midfield shouldn’t be as easy to trot through as Manchester United’s was.

 Tottenham Hotspur 3 – 0 Wigan Athletic

Wigan has become the whipping boy for many of the top clubs in England and I’m predicting that Tottenham will continue this with a solid win. Not much else to say here, anything other than a win would be shocking, in my opinion.

West Ham United 1 – 0 Manchester City

Manchester City’s first loss of the season will come against West Ham United. That’s right, you heard it here. I’m predicting a West Ham win for this one. Manchester City definitely got lucky last weekend against a Swansea side that just couldn’t finish. West Ham’s front line should be able to nick the goal they need from a struggling City back 5 or 4 or 3 or whatever Mancini decides to go with.

Queens Park Rangers 2 – 1 Reading

Another first for the season will be my prediction of a QPR win. Reading hasn’t been playing the greatest. They probably had their best Premier League match of the season last weekend with the 3 – 3 draw to Fulham, but that wasn’t exactly the showcase match they would like to put out there. Rangers have been improving recently and if they can keep their discipline then they should get their much needed win to push them above Reading in the tables.

 Liverpool 2 – 2 Newcastle United

Liverpool has had a roller coaster of a start this year. They have been doing well in the Europa League, but nothing else to really brag about. This could also be said of Newcastle who have only 3 more points than Liverpool. Luis Suarez has been scoring goals again, but who knows when he’s going to go cold again. Liverpool managed to let a 2 goal lead slip away to Everton last weekend while Newcastle came from behind to grab a dramatic win. Liverpool will most likely dominate most of the match but Newcastle’s fast paced counter attack will get them the goals they need for the draw, or possibly a win.

Monday, November 5, 2012

West Bromwich Albion 3 – 2 Southampton

Southampton has allowed a total of 26 goals in 9 matches this season and scored 14 while West Brom has scored 13 allowing 11. West Brom is on the plus side of the goal difference by 2 and Southampton has a whopping -12. Not a good stat in their favor. Southampton’s trend has been to lose and I don’t see that changing. West Brom has played some nice football this season and I’m predicting a win for them against a Southampton team really struggling to find their form.
