Week 15 in the Premier League and the top of the table is starting to distance itself from the rest of the pack. Three points separate Man City in fourth with 30 points and Tottenham in fifth, however, the gap to sixth is six points for Manchester United behind Spurs. The big gap here is the 13 points between first and sixth. Following Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Man City, they have also opened up a three point lead over Arsenal on the top of the table.
Chelsea have set themselves up very well to go into the new year still at the top and they are the best matchup for the next five fixtures leading us up through the start of 2017. These fixtures feature West Brom (H), Sunderland (A), Crystal Palace (A), Bournemouth (H), and Stoke (H). Their January 2 match could be a tough one against Tottenham (A). They are an easy pick for best FPL matchup in these next five games. This goes for all areas of the pitch, especially after they could have kept a clean sheet against Man City, except for a Gary Cahill own goal.

Week FPL 15 Matchups
Crystal Palace surprisingly came back to life with a strong 3-0 win over Southampton. While they play Hull City this weekend, City will be hosts and Palace don’t have the best away record. It is identical to their home record at 2-1-4, but they have given up 16 goals while scoring 13. Despite being bottom of the form table they are playing a City team that has a -18 goal difference. Crystal Palace should be good bets to get goals on Saturday.
Liverpool will host West Ham looking to make up for their abysmal 4-3 loss against Bournemouth. West Ham are in dire straits with 12 points sitting just one point above the relegation zone. In the last six matches Liverpool are second in the form table and have scored 17 goals compared to West Ham who have scored just 6 and have a -6 goal difference. Liverpool defense options should be out the window, but loading up on attacking players is nearly a must.
Swansea v Sunderland may be the attacking matchup of the weekend. Swansea City at home has scored 10 goals and allowed 16 while Sunderland on the road has scored 4 goals and allowed 10. Both teams have picked up results in recent weeks, however, Sunderland has been the better of the two with 3 wins in their last four. It should also be noted that Swansea has allowed 16 goals in their last five matches that include two 3-1 losses, a 5-4 win, and a 5-0 loss last weekend. I still hold that attacking options are open for both sides, not just for Sunderland.
Hopefully I’ll have more time this week to put up FPL tips later in the week, but hopefully these FPL matchups and predictions will be beneficial in setting your fantasy Premier League team regardless of which format you’re playing in. Good luck and have fun!
