Done Deal? Comment That Indicates Nabil Fekir Will Be An Arsenal Player Soon

There is no doubting the fact that Arsene Wenger loves French players and French players, particularly young ones, certainly have an affinity for the Arsenal boss.

This is because they respect Wenger and they know that under the leadership of the Gunners’ most successful manager, they will be given a chance to play. Therefore, it is no surprise that Arsenal are linked with virtually every big name player, French or in France.

Could the recent Nabil Fekir to Arsenal rumours be true?

Lyon’s forward is undoubtedly a good player and one that Arsenal could do with, especially if Mesut Ozil departs from the Emirates. He is versatile and can play virtually in any midfield position – an attribute that will entice the Arsenal boss.

In 15 games so far this season, the Ligue 1 attacker has scored 12 times, replacing the void left by Alexandre Lacazette in the process.

The Gunners have been interested in 24-year-old for some time and it is assumed that the French contingency of Laurent Koscielny, Francis Coquelin and Lacazette in North London will give the Premier League side an advantage over any other potential suitors. Moreover, in 2015 the player’s father confirmed his son will only move to Arsenal whenever he chooses to leave Lyon.

“Nabil would like to finish 1st or 2nd and play Champions League football with Lyon,” Fekir’s father said.

“If he leaves, it’ will be for Arsenal. It’s the only club that can enable him to progress, with Arsene Wenger.

“He will not go to Manchester City to sit on the bench.”

Although, since then, Paris Saint-Germain have become a household name in world football and have been able to tempt many big-name stars. But Fekir himself not too long ago ruled out a move to the French club.

“When you are Lyonnais, the only attractive French club remains Lyon,” he told Le Parisien this week. “There isn’t another which tempts me more than that.

“Spain and England are two very attractive championships

“Me, I like the game, the beautiful game. The teams that are only in the duel do not interest me. That’s not football.”

This is good news for Arsenal in many respects. PSG can afford to sign Fekir if they really want him but 1. They do not need him 2. He doesn’t want them. That for me totally knocks them out.

That, however, doesn’t mean Arsenal are free to sign him. There is a good chance Liverpool, Chelsea and other European clubs such as Dortmund, Juventus, Barca and even Real Madrid could be in for the player come the summer.

If Arsenal are to stand a chance of signing him, they need to be firm with their interest and move fast or risk getting hijacked by clubs who have more money and are a more attractive prospect than Arsenal.
