Luke Shaw is surplus to requirements at Manchester United and there have been rumours recently suggesting he could be going back to Southampton or be used as bait in the Red Devils’ move for Tottenham’s Danny Rose.
Manchester United now appear to have been given a boost in their bid to sign Juventus left-back Alex Sandro as reports from Italy claim Juventus are targeting Tottenham’s Danny Rose to replace the Brazilian. Rose himself has recently been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but with Juventus now said to be interested in the 27-year-old, Spurs would likely be more open to do business with the Italian giants rather than their Premier League rivals.
That in itself could mean Alex Sandro would be available for Manchester United. Although Chelsea have also been linked to the signing of the Brazilian defender, the presence of Marcos Alonso in their team means Sandro may not want to go there as it may be difficult for him to get regular playing time with the Blues compared to United.
At United, Alex Sandro would have Ashley Young, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian to compete with and he would undoubtedly be the first choice. The Brazilian’s contract doesn’t expire in Turin until 2020 but he is underpaid at Juventus, and with the English clubs ready to double his wages, he could certainly be tempted to move.
Juventus are said to be ready to let him go for €60 million (£53m), which, considering the current market, is good value for a player of Alex Sandro’s quality.
