Chelsea have been given a boost in their bid to sign highly rated Juventus and Brazil international defender Alex Sandro. The former FC Porto star was linked with a move to Chelsea last summer but rather than move to England, he stayed at Juventus.
He has been one of Juventus’ best players since he signed for them but unfortunately the Old Lady are at the risk of losing him, due to his current wage package. The Brazilian reportedly earns peanuts at the moment and fears that the lure of money could make Juventus lose him has forced the Italians to open contract talks with him, even though his current deal runs until 2020.
Manchester United have also been linked to signing the left back. The Red Devils are said to view Sandro as the ideal replacement for Luke Shaw. English clubs who are interested can certainly afford to give the Brazilian better wages which could tempt him to leave Juventus for the Premier league.
There is good news for Chelsea and Manchester United. Calciomercato.com reckons Juventus are interested in signing Tottenham star Danny Rose as a potential replacement for the Brazilian. If true, this news could mean Juventus have admitted defeat in their bid to keep their prized asset.
Should this be the case, it means Chelsea can sign the player if they are still interested in him, despite having Marcos Alonso. Calciomercato.com reckons Juventus will be ready to accept €60million for the player and will spend part of that money to sign Danny Rose.
Danny Rose has been linked with Chelsea himself lately but if I am part of the decision making at Chelsea, I would want the club to go for Alex Sandro over Rose. With no disrespect meant to the England international, in my humble opinion, Alex Sandro is a better player.
