Premier League Results and Highlights

Premier League Scores: Result, Match Analysis and Highlights from the EPL Fixture between Manchester City vs Everton on Saturday, December 01, 2012.

Result: Manchester City 1 – 1 Everton

Location: Etihad – Manchester City

Manchester City – 1 Everton – 1
Carlos Tevez (PEN 43’) Marouane Fellaini (33’)

Everton were the team to beat to start the match. They were very dominant in the middle of the pitch and took control of the midfield. Most of the first match Manchester City were chasing the game. They did get some good chances as well, but Everton took the lead in the 33rd minute through Marouane Fellaini

Fellaini was again involved in a goal, but, unfortunately for him, it was a goal for City. Fellaini took down Edin Dzeko in the box during Manchester City’s corner. Some will say it’s a soft penalty, but it was deservedly given as Fellaini clearly fouled him. Carlos Tevez stepped up for the penalty kick and shot straight down the middle to even the score at 1-1 in the 43rd minute.

The second half was much more even and both sides had chances, but not enough to get a win. I had predicted a 2-1 win for Manchester City, but I think the line-ups and substitutions are what did them in. In my opinion City plays better when Dzeko comes off the bench and they start with Aguero and Tevez. Tevez was the best player for them today. Bringing Balotelli on was possibly a mistake as well since it meant that Aguero then came on for Tevez and the two of them were not able to link up together.

In the end a draw was deserved for both sides, but the draw is a better result for Everton as it means that City only gains a point to put them (for now) tied on points with Manchester United.
