Premier League Scores: Result, Match Analysis and Highlights from the EPL Fixture between Reading vs Arsenal on Monday, December 17, 2012. Includes Video Highlights for U.S. viewers (as available).
Result: Reading 2 – 5 Arsenal
Location: Madejski Stadium – Reading
Reading – 2 | Arsenal – 5 |
Adam Le Fondre (66’) | Lukas Podolski (14’) |
Jimmy Kebe (71’) | Santi Cazorla (32’) |
Santi Cazorla (34’) | |
Santi Cazorla (60’) | |
Theo Walcott (80’) |
While not the 12 goal fireworks show of their earlier match-up, 7 goals were shared between the two clubs. Santi Cazorla netted himself a hat trick, including 2 goals within 3 minutes. Reading’s two goals from Adam Le Fondre and Jimmy Kebe were due to poor Arsenal defending, but this was far from enough to help a flailing Reading side.
Arsenal ran rampant throughout the match and were in complete control. They could have easily had 5 or 6 by the first half. Theo Walcott was able to make the score sheet as a striker since he was up front tonight in place of injured Olivier Giroud.
Reading’s defensive woes continue to be a problem and they seem doomed to relegation this season. I would say that they came up a little too soon and should probably save their money in January and just prepare for the drop.
