Arsenal v West Ham United: Postponed due to Underground tube workers strike.

Arsenal (D, L, W, W, W)          West Ham United (L, W, L, D, L)

Everton v Wigan Athletic: Everton showed that they can still score goals without Fellaini in the team. I would say that they probably only won due to West Ham being stretched after going down to ten men. Wigan played well against Arsenal and were undone by a Walcott dive for a penalty. This could end up being an interesting match and could go either way. I’m going to predict a draw, probably low scoring.

Everton (D, D, W, D, W)          Wigan (L, L, D, L, L)

Fulham v Southampton: Both sides were largely outplayed over the weekend, particularly Fulham. Against Southampton they have a better chance of scoring goals again. Fulham do have a positive goal difference at home as well as being 4-1-3 while Southampton have been truly poor away going 1-0-6 with a -12 goal difference. This is yet another match that really could go either way. Both teams have had their ups and downs this season. In the end I’m going to pick Fulham to come away from this with a win.

Fulham (D, L, W, L, L)             Southampton (W, D, L, W, L)

Manchester United v Newcastle United: Newcastle barely nicked a win from QPR over the weekend and has been rather poor recently. Manchester United did not do enough to win at Swansea, but they are coming home where they have one defeat this season. I won’t say much for this one. Manchester United should come away with a win, and I’m predicting a win, whether it’s comfortable or not.

Manchester United (W, W, W, W, D)                   Newcastle (L, W, L, L, W)

Norwich City v Chelsea: Chelsea have hit a new high with their form in the past week. Against Aston Villa they ran into a very young team that seemed out of their league. I do think they will have a tougher time away to Norwich. Chris Hughton has a good side that is starting to get things together. They have some excellent home form with a record of 5-2-1. Norwich will be a good test for Chelsea with their new setup under Rafa Benitez. It will also be a good test for Norwich who have already taken the high profile scalps of wins over Arsenal and Manchester United. Norwich will certainly be going into this with a set game plan. If they are able to stick to it and hold off Chelsea, they will come away with a result. With that said, I think Chelsea is hitting a new high and will cause problems. In the end I’m going to predict a draw, most likely 1 – 1. Chelsea may be in form, but they will be going on only 2 days rest and having had 3 matches played in 10 days (including flights to and from Japan) it’s going to catch up with them eventually.

Norwich City (D, W, W, W, L)           Chelsea (D, D, L, W, W)

Queens Park Rangers v West Bromwich Albion: I think I’m finally done predicting QPR wins. I’m sure they will get another win or two somewhere, but I don’t want to be burned by them anymore. West Brom got back to winning ways over Norwich this weekend while QPR went down to a struggling Newcastle. I’m predicting West Brom will continue on with winning by defeating QPR on Wednesday.

QPR (D, D, D, W, L)                 West Brom (L, L, L, D, W)

Reading v Swansea City: Reading played very well against Manchester City over the weekend while Swansea did the same against Manchester United. In the end Swansea managed to get a result while Reading did not. Reading remain bottom of the table and I’m predicting yet another loss for them. Swansea’s fast paced attacking and possession will overpower Reading, more so than City, who often looked feeble in attack. I’m picking Swansea to come out winners.

Reading (L, L, L, L, L)              Swansea City (W, W, L, L, D)

Sunderland v Manchester City: Manchester City hasn’t looked the greatest in recent weeks, but still managed to get back to back wins. Their weekend win over Reading was far from convincing. Sunderland has looked somewhat better lately, but Manchester City have too much quality to give up another match. My prediction here is another Manchester City win to keep pace with their cross town rivals going into the New Year.

Sunderland (L, L, W, L, W)                Manchester City(W, D, L, W, W)

Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur: Aston Villa will be hurting from their weekend loss to Chelsea. They are still a young team and a loss like this could affect them for quite some time. Tottenham may have drawn to Stoke, but Stoke is a better team than Villa. My pick is for Tottenham to get back into winning form and keep Aston Villa in the relegation battle.

Aston Villa (W, D, D, W, L)               Tottenham (W, W, L, W, D)

Stoke City v Liverpool: This will be a great test for both sides. For Liverpool the goal will be to break down the sturdy Stoke defense. For Stoke, they will certainly need to stay on their toes against a Liverpool side that retains large amounts of possession and is beginning to get goals and climb the table. Stoke at home has yet to lose and I don’t think they will lose there anytime soon. This will be a low scoring draw in the end with Liverpool dominating most of the match.

Stoke (W, W, D, D, D)             Liverpool (L, W, W, L, W)

*W/D/L stats are based on the past 5 Premier League competitions

Let me know what you think. Do you think I picked them right? Any changes you would make?
