This weekend marks the final EPL fixtures before Christmas, starting with Everton versus Arsenal on Saturday and concluding with the big London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea.
In between that, Manchester City host Leicester City and Watford will be looking for points at Vicarage Road against Manchester United. The Liverpool versus West Ham United game has been postponed due to the former’s participation in the FIFA Club World Cup over in Qatar.
Here are your best choices for this week’s fantasy football:
The Manchester City forward got back among the goals last weekend as they ran out 3-0 winners away to Arsenal. I am expecting an end to end match at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday and goals galore when Pep Guardiola’s side host Leicester City.
Brendan Rodgers’ side suffered a setback last weekend when their eight game winning streak in the top flight came to an end with a 1-1 draw at home to Norwich City.
Don’t be surprised if City turn it on and come away with another three points from this one. I think any of their attacking players are in with a good shout of being made your fantasy football captain but Raheem Sterling has the best matchup, against Ricardo Pereira. You may wish to go with Gabriel Jesus or Kevin De Bruyne if you have either of those players instead.
His goalscoring run came to an end against Norwich but I am expecting Jamie Vardy to be back among the goals on Saturday. The Leicester forward comes up against a leaky defence that only last week picked up a rare clean sheet.
Vardy should get the better of Nicolas Otamendi, Fernandinho and co, but it’s just a matter of how much possession the Foxes get in City’s half. He’ll certainly see a chance or two you can be sure of that.
Norwich City may have ended Leicester’s winning run but they were helped by the hosts underperforming last weekend. I don’t expect Daniel Farke’s side to run into luck two weeks in a row as they welcome an in-form Wolverhampton Wanderers side to Carrow Road this weekend.
The hosts rarely keep a clean sheet so Raul Jimenez should be a safe selection this weekend. The Mexican striker is involved in just about everything in attack for Nuno’s side and should see his fair share of chances this time out too.
