Location: Emirates Stadium – Arsenal
|Arsenal – 0||Man City – 2|
|James Milner (21’)|
|Edin Dzeko (32’)|
The 9th minute of the match started what would become a dominant Manchester City outing. Laurent Koscielny was given a straight red card after rugby tackling Edin Dzeko inside the 6 yard box. Dzeko stepped up for the penalty kick, but Wojciech Szczesny saved it with the ball bouncing off the post and spinning into Szczesny’s arms.
James Milner and Edin Dzeko each scored in the first half. The second half Manchester City dominated and continued to wear down Arsenal. Despite this Arsenal hung in there and didn’t let City get any more goals. City’s captain Vincent Kompany will now miss the next three matches after getting a straight red for a two-footed challenge on Jack Wilshire despite the fact that replays showed he didn’t actually foul Wilshire at all. Replays showed that his studs were down, only one foot was in and he won the ball. At full speed it did appear that he left his feet though.
