Tottenham Hotspur 3 – 1 Manchester City: Spurs scored three goals within six minutes through Dempsey, Defoe and Bale. All three of which were fantastic shots. Spurs win keeps them in fifth place on 61 points, level with Chelsea prior to their match later on Sunday. It also puts them two points behind Arsenal who are in third.

Manchester City could see their hopes of another title comeback ended after this loss. Manchester United have the chance to clinch the title on Monday with a win.

Liverpool 2 – 2 Chelsea: After more or less flying under the radar in recent months, Luis Suarez decided to greet the shortlist nomination for PFA Player of the Year by involving himself in two controversial incidents. First his blatant handball in the box gave Chelsea a penalty which Hazard put away neatly. This was soon followed up by his tackle and bite on Ivanovic in Chelsea’s penalty box. The first was met with a yellow card, but he managed to get away with the second.

While Suarez really should not have been on the pitch after his two incidents, he managed to get the equalizing goal in the last minute of stoppage time (90’+6′). It will be interesting to see what the FA does after his biting incident and to see whether the referee or linesman say that they saw what happened.

For Liverpool, they looked a much better team in the second half after Daniel Sturridge came on. Chelsea were the dominant team in the first half and still looked strong at times in the second half, but Liverpool did well to stay in the game.

The draw helps out both Arsenal and Tottenham’s chances at getting into the top four. Chelsea remain in fourth place one point behind Arsenal and one point ahead of Tottenham.
