Premier League Preview for Manchester United v Swansea City along with Predictions for the matches on week 37 of the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week. You can also check out the weekly EPL TV Schedule.
With Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement announcement and the impending managerial takeover by David Moyes this match becomes bigger than it was just a few days ago. This match will now be Fergie’s last match at Old Trafford as manager of Manchester United. It will be yet another historic day for the legend that is Sir Alex.
Swansea City are in a place of comfort since winning the Capital One Cup. They have only two wins in their last 10 matches. Their high tempo play could easily earn them a result on Sunday, especially if they play a high line and press United high up the pitch, something that the United midfield does not cope well with.
Manchester United are in an even more comfortable position having won their 13th Premier League title (20 top flight titles in all). However, this will be Sir Alex’s last match at Old Trafford and I do not expect them to field a weakened side or let up at all.
My prediction is for a win; a final Old Trafford win for a manager who had made the club into the dominant force in the EPL. It will be interesting to see what kind of team is put out, and if Wayne Rooney is included or not.
Manchester United (W, L, W, D, W, D, L) 3 – 0 Swansea (L, L, D, D, L, D, W)
