Cardiff City won promotion to the Premier League as winners of the 2012-13 Championship season. Cardiff are the second Welsh team in the EPL and their matches with Swansea will add yet another touch of drama to the league.
So far this summer Cardiff have spent £17M bringing in three new players. They purchased the defenders John Brayford and Steven Caulker along with midfielder Andreas Cornelius to strengthen their squad. Bringing in quality defenders will certainly help Cardiff in being able to stay up and compete in the Premier League. My prediction is that Cardiff can stay up this season, but that it will be a difficult year for them. They will need to get their forwards to prove themselves on the big stage and get the goals needed.
