Premier League Results and Highlights for Match Week 3 Fixtures. EPL Video Highlights included for Saturday’s matches.
Manchester City 2 – 0 Hull City: Manchester City did what title contenders need to do; they won despite not playing well. Hull City spurned multiple chances with Man City’s defense looking woeful throughout the match. It remained scoreless with Hull getting most of the best chances until the 65th minute when Alvaro Negredo headed in to give the home side the lead. Man City ensured the win with a Yaya Toure free kick in the 90th minute.
Newcastle United 1 – 0 Fulham: Hatem Ben Arfa gave Newcastle United their first win of the season in the 86th minute in a match that was largely controlled by Newcastle.
Norwich City 1 – 0 Southampton: Norwich earned themselves a hard fought home win thanks to Nathan Redmond’s first Premier League goal in the 68th minute. Southampton should have had a penalty for a clear handling of the ball in the box, but the referee inexplicably turned it down, yet another poor refereeing decision.
Cardiff City 0 – 0 Everton: Everton largely dominated the match and should have had a penalty when Leighton Baines was clearly taken down in the box. Instead the referee completely missed the call. There were few real chances for either team, but both keepers made some great saves when called into action.
West Ham United 0 – 1 Stoke City: A fantastic free kick from Jermaine Pennant in the 82nd minute gave Stoke City a huge away win.
Crystal Palace 3 – 1 Sunderland: Crystal Palace took 9th minute lead through Gabiddon to give the home side a 1-0 lead at the half. Steven Fletcher leveled for Sunderland in the 64th minute, but everything changed in the 78th minute when John O’Shea was sent off and gave up a penalty. Dwight Gayle smashed the penalty in to give Palace the lead and they didn’t look back. They eventually added a third through Stuart O’Keefe in the second minute of stoppage time.
