Fantasy Friday: Week 4 EPL Fantasy Tips

Premier League Fantasy Tips

Each week Fantasy Friday will bring tips for Premier League fantasy leagues including matchups to watch out for. Keep up to date on players injured, suspended or questionable for each week.

Week 4 of the Premier League fantasy season is starting following an extended break for international World Cup Qualifiers. There are a few players that will be missing due to injury following the break so keep an eye out for those in your teams.

This weekend has some tricky matches coming up and will mean that EPL fantasy team owners will need to take a careful look at their lineups. With Chelsea and Everton facing off it might pay off to bench some of those players since that will likely be low scoring. Be sure to keep Romelu Lukaku on the bench this weekend since he will not be allowed to play against his parent club, Chelsea.

Goalkeepers:

This weekend owners may want to look at picking up Simon Mignolet. In most leagues he is still mid-range in terms of cost and his value should continue to increase.

You could also look at Jussi Jaaskelainen who is always solid as well as Cardiff’s David Marshall (although he is listed as questionable with about 50-75% chance of playing). With Cardiff facing off against Hull City, there is a good chance that he could end up with a clean sheet.

Defenders:

As far as defenders go picking from any of Liverpool’s back line is a solid choice, particularly Jose Enrique who tends to get forward often and get involved in attacking.

If you are looking for some more risky picks you could go with Southampton’s Jose Fonte  as they face off against West Ham United. He has scored this season and could get some points with his ability to get forward. The same could be said of Kyle Walker as Tottenham takes on Norwich. Also from Southampton you could look at youngster Luke Shaw.

Midfielders:

Marouane Fellaini looks likely to make his first start with Manchester United and could be a difference maker for David Moyes. Mesut Ozil is another player that should make his debut this weekend, although he could be a risky buy considering how often he only played 60-70 minutes for Real Madrid.

With West Ham taking on Southampton there’s a chance for goals and Kevin Nolan and Mark Noble could make for some decent low money buys.

Southampton’s young midfielder James Ward-Prowse could be a good cheap buy to fill a spot since he has been playing this season and could eventually come good.

Strikers:

At the front Danny Welbeck might be a good addition for teams looking for a decent mid-range cost striker. His two goals for England will only build his confidence, which has already been growing this season.

Another England international who played well was Rickie Lambert. He is another decent buy who’s confidence could only be helped by playing in two World Cup qualifiers.

Gary Hooper could be making his Norwich debut this weekend, though, having not played yet, would most likely be a sub.
