Each week Fantasy Friday will bring tips for Premier League fantasy leagues including matchups to watch out for. Keep up to date on players injured, suspended or questionable for each week.

In last week’s Fantasy Friday post I highlighted several of the young up and coming stars that could bring you points. Aaron Ramsey was one of those on the list and he’s certainly one that, provided he stays healthy, will continue to improve and provide your team with points.

This week I want to take a look at some of the matchups coming up this weekend that could affect your team’s points.

UPDATE: At the moment it looks like Robin van Persie is being cleared to play while Sergio Aguero is being kept on the bench. Whether this is true or not remains to be seen and will only truly be revealed when the squad sheets are posted. With van Persie’s recent injury it does seem more likely that he will start on the bench and only be used as a sub if necessary.

Tottenham v Chelsea: This is going to be a big match for both clubs, but probably more so for Tottenham. It could also be a very defensive effort from both sides. In looking at points on the season Vertonghen, Walker and Dawson could all be good pickups as well as Terry and Ivanovic.

Aston Villa v Manchester City: Aston Villa look likely to be without Benteke this weekend meaning that any goal scoring will be left up to Libor Kozak and Andreas Weimann. Manchester City will be a good team to look at for points in week 6 following their 4-1 win last week. Sergio Aguero is back in form and could be a great pickup for captain. Yaya Toure has also been scoring lately and could get on the points list again for goals and assists.

Fulham v Cardiff: I would have a hard time suggesting anyone from Fulham this season. This is one match that could go any which way, but picking up some cheap players from Cardiff might be a good choice to fill slots including midfielders Pete Whittingham and Aron Gunnarsson as well as goalkeeper David Marshall.

Manchester United v West Brom: At this time Robin van Persie is out with a groin injury, which is never good for a striker. He is questionable for being available by Saturday. Wayne Rooney has been in excellent form and would be a good pick for any team. United’s defense should be able to pick up a clean sheet this weekend as well. West Brom has had difficulty scoring this year with three of their four goals coming last week against Sunderland. If you do fancy some West Brom players you could look at Liam Ridgewell or Stephane Sessegnon.

Hull City v West Ham United: Hull City has started to pick up some points this season and players like MF Robbie Brady and F Sone Aluko would be cheap buys to fill slots. Allan McGregor has done well in goal. Against West Ham he may pick up several saves, but I have my doubts as to whether they can keep a clean sheet. With Andy Carroll still out Kevin Nolan has been the main player to get points on offense. Maiga may come good at some point, but so far has struggled up front.

Southampton v Crystal Palace: Southampton have had a resurgence in the defensive department with both Dejan Lovren and Jose Fonte getting goals and putting in quality defensive efforts. They are also cheap in most fantasy leagues. For Crystal Palace their standout fantasy player has been forward Dwight Gayle who looks like the most likely to score for Palace.

Swansea City v Arsenal: My prediction for this match was that it will be a rather open game with goals coming from both ends. For Swansea you can look at the likes of Michu and Jonjo Shelvey in midfield to get some points. Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil is always a quality pick and has been a key component to all of Arsenal’s attack. Alongside him you can’t miss out on perhaps the most in-form player at the moment in Aaron Ramsey. Giroud was quiet last week, but in the previous four matches put in solid performances.

Stoke City v Norwich City: So far Stoke’s best fantasy players have all been defenders and they should get some more points this weekend, this includes Ryan Shawcross, Asmir Begovic and Geoff Cameron. Offensively they haven’t had much output, but this could be the week for it. Norwich will likely struggle against Stoke but they do have some quality midfielders to look at including Nathan Redmond and Leroy Fer.

Sunderland v Liverpool: Sunderland’s best performer this season has been Giacherrini and there isn’t much else to say about the team at the bottom of the table. On the Liverpool side, it is a safe bet to say that Luis Suarez will be starting and picking any of their defenders should net you some points. I would expect them to get a clean sheet and add to Simon Mignolet’s point tally for the season.

Everton v Newcastle: Leighton Baines has been one of the best attacking defenders this season and should continue to do well along with Seamus Coleman. Romelu Lukaku would be another good pickup along with Kevin Mirallas for some offensive points. Newcastle will most likely struggle against Everton, but Loic Remy did score two last week which will boost his confidence. Alongside Remy, Hatem Ben-Arfa has been solid.
