Premier League Preview for Cardiff v Newcastle along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.
Stoke had a bit of a setback in their 1-0 loss to Norwich City on Sunday. They have shown signs of change, but it has been slow and matches like Sunday’s should be expected as they grow into a new tactical style under Mark Hughes.
Fulham are currently sitting in the relegation zone at 18th place with only four points from a win and a draw. They have allowed nine goals while only scoring four. Not a good return from a team that, on paper, should be better than this.
Leading up to this match there will certainly be talk of whether Martin Jol will be the next Premier League manager given the sack. It’s always possible that he will be sacked prior to the match. I would say that placing a bet on him as the next manager fired would be a good one.
In this Saturday’s match my prediction is for a Stoke City win. Fulham’s only win this season came away to Sunderland. At home they are 0-1-2 while allowing five goals. While Stoke have not had a great away record over the past several years, this season they are 1-0-2 with their two losses coming against Liverpool and Arsenal.
In reality, predicting this match is going to be very difficult, as the betting odds show. This is truly a match that could go either way. A draw would not be out of the question, but I certainly don’t see there being a lot of goals.
Betting Odds: Fulham win: 2.25-2.38; Draw: 3.29-3.40; Stoke win: 3.17-3.40
Form: Fulham (W, L, L, D, L, L) Stoke (L, W, W, D, L, L)
Prediction: Fulham 1 – 2 Stoke City
