Norwich City Preview

Premier League Preview for Norwich City v Cardiff City along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.

The week 9 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

Norwich City and Cardiff City currently have only one point separating the two of them with Cardiff sitting in 16th place and Norwich in 18th in table. Both teams are coming in with very similar form with back to back losses. The positive thing to look at is that both teams have lost to teams near the top of the table. They have also allowed the same amount of goals scored against them with 13. Cardiff have scored two more than Norwich with eight compared to six.

In looking at conversion rate averages Cardiff have edged Norwich with 9% compared to 6% and an average of one goal per game compared to 0.8. All of Norwich’s goals have come from open play while Cardiff has scored three from set pieces. Both teams have very similar pass success rates with Norwich at 79% and Cardiff at 75%.

My prediction is that this match will be very evenly matched with a very close draw, but it is one that really could go either way. If Norwich are able to hold on defensively and get some better chances, they stand a good chance of winning. This is one of those matches that will be won and lost based on who creates the best chances.

Betting Odds: Norwich win: 2.16-2.20; Draw: 3.32-3.40; Cardiff win: 3.33-3.60

Form: Norwich (W, L, L, W, L, L)   Cardiff (D, D, L, W, L, L)

Prediction: Norwich 1 – 1 Cardiff City
