Each week Fantasy Friday will bring tips for Premier League fantasy leagues including matchups to watch out for. With the EPL’s week 10 coming up stay up to date on players injured, suspended or questionable for each week.
In last weekend’s fantasy team of the week Luis Suarez was the hot player with his hat trick over West Brom. His strike partner, Daniel Sturridge, remains a quality pick for any fantasy team as well as his goal was his fourth match in a row with a goal. It should be noted that he has failed to score in only one match this season (Liverpool’s 0-1 loss to Southampton) and has only been subbed off in one match.
This week Liverpool take on Arsenal meaning that there will be winners and losers in the fantasy world. For Arsenal Aaron Ramsey has continued to do well while Olivier Giroud has had two good weeks in a row with two assists in week 8 and a goal scored in week 9.
If you are looking for some defensive points, Southampton continues to impress across their back line. Artur Boruc, Jose Fonte, and Dejan Lovren are all near the top of the fantasy points chart. On Saturday they take on Stoke City, which should be another clean sheet for them. In midfield you might want to also look at Adam Lallana who has done well controlling matches and will benefit from clean sheets. He is a bit of a gamble since he has been rather inconsistent as a fantasy points scorer. Rickie Lambert
Both Everton and Tottenham have been two teams with some quality defensive players getting points, but this weekend they face each other. Hugo Lloris has kept six clean sheets for Spurs while Tim Howard has four for Everton.
Manchester City face a struggling Norwich City this weekend which could mean plenty of offensive points for players like Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero. While Toure has been rather quiet the last couple of weeks, this is a good chance for him to pick up points. Aguero has now scored four goals in the last three matches and should continue this streak against Norwich.
If you are looking for a bargain this weekend you might want to check out Hull City. They play Sunderland at home and, as noted in my Hull v Sunderland preview, Hull City has allowed only one goal at home this season.
Manchester United take on Fulham and this could be a good week to pick Wayne Rooney and Adnan Januzaj. I would still avoid taking any of United’s defense due to the inconsistency of both their form and who will be playing.
There are risks to be taken this weekend as well, particularly with Cardiff City taking on Swansea City. The Wales Derby could bring some interesting results. West Ham United and Aston Villa face off and is a match that could go either way. Aston Villa has not been scoring much lately and West Ham has been very inconsistent at both ends.
West Brom is a team that may have lost big to Liverpool, but this weekend face bottom of the table Crystal Palace and could get some good fantasy points. Newcastle United are at home to Chelsea which is another match that could bring someone plenty of points. Loic Remy has had a good season so far and Fernando Torres is starting to come into his own and get goals.
