Premier League Preview for Fulham v Aston Villa along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.
Fulham’s woeful season continued with their sixth straight loss following the home 2-1 defeat to Tottenham on Wednesday. There is now news that their star player, Dimitar Berbatov, wants to leave. This cannot help things. Rene Meulensteen was brought in to help out, but little has changed in his short time there. To make things worse, they have lost 9 of their last 10 home Premier League matches and have given up at least two goals in each of their last six games. 12 goals for a team with players like Bryan Ruiz, Berbatov, and Darren Bent is not enough.
Aston Villa have not had the kind of start to their season that they had hoped, but the good news is that they are playing away and have seemed to do better on the road this season. Their away record in the Premier League is 3-3-1 while their home record is 2-1-4. It seems that the pressure is off them on the road and they can play a more flowing, expansive football. Their last two away matches saw them score two and three goals respectively, which is a good sign for them. They did, however, allow two goals in both games.
I’m predicting another good away performance for Aston Villa and a win for them as well. Fulham will need to be able to score first if they hope to get anything out of the match, but even then, they have played so poorly lately, that it is difficult to see them getting anything out of this.
Betting Odds: Fulham win: 2.67-2.80; Draw: 3.32-3.40; Villa win: 2.66-2.80
Form: Fulham (L, L, L, L, L, L) Aston Villa (L, D, W, D, D, W)
Prediction: Fulham 1 – 2 Aston Villa
