Premier League Preview for Everton v Fulham along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.
Everton return home to Goodison Park following a fantastic road trip that netted them four points including a historic win over Manchester United and a deserved draw against top of the table Arsenal. Their 7-7-1 record is good enough to give them 28 points and move them into fifth place where they are now seven points out of first. In their past six matches they have scored a total of nine goals and allowed four, including four clean sheets.
At home this season Everton are undefeated, a run that goes back into last season and extends to 16 Premier League matches. This season they have allowed only six goals with four clean sheets at home. This compares to Fulham’s road record of 2-0-5 while allowing 13 goals and scoring five, with four of those coming their 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Fulham’s woeful season took a slight positive turn last weekend with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa. This was preceded by six straight losses during which they had allowed 16 goals and scored three. They certainly looked a much better team in Sunday’s win. During the match they kept 53% possession, up from their season average of 44%. They took 21 shots with nine of those on target, up from a season average of 10 taken and three on target.
My prediction is for an Everton win and a clean sheet. Everton are a team that is heading in the right direction and has developed a positive playing style and mentality that the players have bought into. Fulham have continued to struggle and often lose focus if they go down a goal. I would say that the longer they can hold off Everton the more likely they are to get a result. If Everton can score early it could be disastrous for Fulham.
Betting Odds: Everton win: 1.37-1.40; Draw: 4.62-4.80; Fulham win: 8.87-9.50
Form: Everton (D, D, D, W, W, D) Fulham (L, L, L, L, L, W)
Prediction: Everton 2 – 0 Fulham
