The week 17 Premier League Predictions have been posted, so go read up on my EPL picks for the weekend. Be sure to also check out the Premier League TV Schedule and 2013-14 Premier League Table.

Manchester United may have finally turned the corner with back to back wins in all competitions. In last week’s Premier League match they beat Aston Villa with a strong 3-0 win which was followed up with a Capital One Cup 2-0 win over Stoke City. These two wins should give them some great momentum going into week 17.

There could be many reasons for this turn around in form, but it should also be noted that the two wins came against teams that are 11th and 13th in the table and should be matches won. Perhaps having Robin van Persie out has been a boost for the team and could give Danny Welbeck a chance to prove his worth up front. However, it with Wayne Rooney out injured, they are missing a massive driving force in their attack. He joins RvP, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini in the growing list of injured players.

West Ham United could really benefit from having a striker like Danny Welbeck this season, or even Javier Hernandez. While Andy Carroll continues to rehab his foot injury West Ham continues to struggle with scoring goals. While not the worst in the league, 13 goals scored is not good enough. Defensively they have done well, allowing 19 this season, which includes eight clean sheets.

My prediction is for a Manchester United win, although I do worry about the atmosphere at Old Trafford and how that could affect the team. The longer that West Ham can frustrate and hold off United, the more quiet the crowd will likely get and the better chance of holding on for a result.

Manchester United has kept a clean sheet in eight of their last ten matches at home against West Ham United in all competitions, including winning their last six. West Ham United has last each of their last three away Premier League matches this season. In that time they have allowed eight goals and scored just two.

Betting Odds: Man United win: 1.35-1.37; Draw: 4.98-5.50; West Ham win: 9.16-10.19

Form: Man United (W, D, D, L, L, W) West Ham (L, L, W, L, L, D)

Prediction: Manchester United 2 – 0 West Ham United
