Stevenage v Everton FA Cup Preview and Prediction

2014 FA Cup Predictions

Stevenage host Everton in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup in Saturday’s late match at 12:30/17:30. Read on for my match preview and prediction along with analysis, betting odds, and TV coverage.

Stevenage

Stevenage could be looking at this match as a chance to get a shock result and launch a bid to get out of the bottom of the table in League Two. They have won their last three FA Cup matches by defeating Portsmouth at home 2-1, Stourbridge at home 4-0 and Doncaster away 3-2. They have scored at least two goals in their last four FA Cup games.

Everton

The Toffees are favorites to advance and should be able to win. Their recent results have seen then loss one match in their last 16 matches in all competitions. They have also only lost just three matches in all competitions this season.

They advanced to round four by winning at home 4-0 over Queens Park Rangers.

They have also scored at least two goals in five out of their last six FA Cup matches. They may be without Seamus Coleman and Steven Pienaar who have picked up recent injuries and will probably not be risked.

Prediction: Stevenage 0 – 2 Everton

While Stevenage could get themselves a goal and could push Everton, my pick is an Everton win. Stevenage will certainly make the most of this tie and will not make it easy for Everton. Everton have recent injury concerns as well as an upcoming Liverpool derby to prepare for. They have also had difficulty this season in breaking down teams that set themselves up solid at the back, which could be Stevenage’s key to getting a result.

Betting Odds (Ladbrokes):

Stevenage win: 9.00; Draw: 5.50; Everton win: 1.30

Form: Stevenage (L, L, W, L, W, L) Everton (L, W, D, W, W, D)

TV:  Saturday’s match will be broadcast live on FOX Soccer Plus at 12:25 pm on US television.  U.K. coverage starts at 5:30 pm on BT Sport.
