Sheffield United v Fulham FA Cup Preview and Prediction

2014 FA Cup Predictions

Fulham travel to Sheffield United in this Fourth Round FA Cup match on Sunday at 8:00/13:00. Read on for my preview and prediction along with analysis, betting odds, and TV coverage.

Sheffield United

Sheffield United are currently sitting in 20th place in League One and need a boost to keep them out of a relegation battle. In the FA Cup this season they have advanced by scoring at least two goals in all three of their matches on the road. They defeated Colchester 2-3, Cambridge United 0-2 and Aston Villa 1-2.

Fulham

The Cottagers are in a similar situation to Sheffield United and could use a cup run to get them some positive results to build on. They are currently just one point above relegation as they are in 17th place with 19 points.

Fulham has shown some improvement recently with the appointment of Rene Muelensteen. They have still struggled at times and did need a third round replay to advance past Norwich City. After their first match ended 1-1 away they came through comfortably with a 3-0 home win.

Prediction: Sheffield United 1 – 3 Fulham

Sheffield United could get a result in this one, including a win, if they play well enough. My pick is a Fulham win, but this does rely on Fulham being able to score first and pick up goals.

Sheffield United would do well to work at frustrating Fulham and this could lead to them getting a result. If they are able to score first it would certainly heap a lot of pressure on a Fulham team that does not play well under pressure.

Betting Odds (Ladbrokes):

Sheffield United win: 2.80; Draw: 3.40; Fulham win: 2.40

Form: Sheffield United (D, W, L, W, L, D) Fulham (L, W, D, L, W, L)

TV: U.K. broadcast starts at 1:00 pm on BT Sport.
