Arsenal go into Saturday’s match at home to Burnley on a current three game unbeaten streak following their 2-0 away loss to Chelsea. Burnley, however, have managed three draws and three losses in their last six.
What is looking even worse for Burnley, other than failing to win a single game this Premier League season so far, is that they have scored just five goals all season. On the positive side, four of those goals have come in their last three matches, including two in a 2-2 draw away to Leicester City.
Burnley’s -11 goal difference is the worst in the Premier League so far, even though other teams have allowed more goals and other teams have scored fewer. Arsenal have a positive goal difference at +4 having scored 15 and allowed 11.
Arsenal have just one loss so far, but have yet to look truly convincing. It seems that every match still has its questions to be asked, even when they have come away with a win.
Betting Odds via Bovada:
Arsenal win: 4/17; 1.24
Draw: 5/1; 6.00
Burnley win: 10/1; 11.00
Pick: My prediction is a rather comfortable win for Arsenal. The fact that Burnley has scored lately and has capitalized on mistakes by the opposition, coupled with Arsenal’s fairly frequent defensive mistakes, means they could get a goal. Arsenal did keep a clean sheet last weekend, albeit against a weak Sunderland side.
