Premier League Scores: Result and Highlights from the EPL Fixture between Manchester City V Swansea City On Saturday, October 27, 2012.

Result: Manchester City 0 – 0 Swansea City

Location: Etihad Stadium – Manchester City

Manchester City – Swansea City –
Carlos Tevez (61’)

In the first half Swansea had the only real good chance with Michu getting a great through ball leaving him one on one with the keeper, but Joe Hart came out quickly to shut him down. Swansea continued to attack and looked good doing so, but City did enough to keep them out.

The second half started out with a definite swing in Man City’s favor. They finally started getting some good link up play working, but still weren’t able to trouble Michael Vorm in the Swans goal. Michu again looked dangerous in the 58th minute, finding space to get a header that was palmed back into the box by Joe Hart.

In the 61st minute Carlos Tevez finally broke the deadlock with a wonderful strike from the top of the box. Well taken and put into the far bottom corner out of Vorm’s reach. To add to the pain of the goal Michael Vorm came up injured and had to be stretchered off and substituted from what appeared to be a groin injury.

From here Manchester City continued to put pressure on Swansea, keeping the ball moving and passing around the pitch. Swansea did not give up and continued to push City. The medical staff was called on again in the 78th minute when Micah Richards twisted his knee while backing up. Swansea had a good chance when Richards went down in the box, but Routledge’s shot went straight into Vincent Kompany covering for Richards.

The 12 minutes of added time for injuries gave Swansea plenty of time to go try to get a goal and level. They looked somewhat dangerous, but City was able to sit back in defense and keep Swansea out.

Manchester City started out sluggishly which is what I expected. If Swansea had been able to grab a goal in that first half, the outcome may have been closer to the 1-1 draw I predicted. The Swans had their fair share of chances, but were not able to convert. I think that City was lucky to come away with a win in this one and have Tevez to thank for his superb shot.
