After last weekend’s matches there was very little movement in the Premier League table. With the way teams have been playing this season there has been a fair amount of parity, and yet at the same time, the teams at the top half of the table have generally come out as winners while those at the bottom continue to struggle.
This weekend features several very interesting matches including the early kickoff on Saturday morning with Tottenham traveling to Bournemouth. Both teams have picked up seven points in their last three matches, but Spurs should still be heavy favorites. There is still the possibility that Bournemouth can pull off an upset, particularly at home where they have won their last three Premier League matches.
The weekend’s matches culminate in the Mourinho Derby featuring Jose Mourinho’s first trip back to Stamford Bridge following his departure last year. This will also be the first time that he will face his former club while managing an opposing Premier League team. Will any of that even matter? I’m sure the Chelsea faithful will greet him warmly enough to start, it just remains to be seen what he can conjure up for the struggling Red Devils.
Chelsea started the season slowly, but have managed to pull themselves up above Manchester United into fifth place with 16 points, two places and two points ahead of United.

With a full slate of matches over the course of two days, there is plenty of football to watch, and hopefully it is all better than last Monday’s drab Liverpool v Manchester United match. With midweek League Cup matches to follow it should be an entertaining weekend for sure.
