Some people will find this odd but I rate Anthony Martial as much as I rate Kylian Mbappe. Tough call but I seriously believe the Manchester United star is a big talent waiting to explode. Unfortunately he is under the wrong manager at Manchester United. Jose Mourinho doesn’t appreciate players like Martial, hence it is not a surprise the former AS Monaco star has been reduced to a bit-part player for the Red Devils.
Last summer Martial was linked with a move to Arsenal and he has yet again been mentioned with the Gunners over the last month. In all honestly I believe Arsene Wenger could give him the platform he desperately needs. Or Pep Guardiola – but unfortunately Manchester City are stocked in the areas Martial can play in. A move to Manchester City to play under Guardiola would have been perfect for his career but unless City sells one of Leroy Sane or Raheem Sterling and do not get Alexis Sanchez, they won’t be needing him.
Having said that, moving to Arsenal wouldn’t be bad for his career. The Gunners may not be winning titles at the moment but Martial would have the right platform and trust his talent deserves under Wenger. Martial and Alexandre Lacazette linked up at national team level well during the last international break and might have hopefully got Wenger thinking. The Manchester United star set up Lacazette for France’s opening goal in the match and when Lacazette was asked about his relationship with Martial and Mbappe, he had this to say;
“Very good, as it is in training.
“We get along well, they are quality players, so it’s easy to get along with these kind of players.”
Anthony Martial could be the perfect replacement for Sanchez and with United now said to be in the running for Sanchez as well as Mesut Ozil, maybe a deal could be possible.
However, he is very unlikely to be cheap. Manchester United signed him in 2015 for £36 million, potentially rising to £58 million. So they could be expecting as much as £58 million if they are to sell him.
