Chelsea star Victor Moses has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury in October, but the Nigerian international could return to action for Chelsea against Liverpool this weekend after making a comeback from his injury.
The Premier League champions will be playing away to Qarabag in Azerbaijan on Wednesday but this match comes too soon for Moses. However, according to Antonio Conte, his player should be in contention for the Liverpool match:
“Victor Moses is progressing well and I hope to have him back from tomorrow for the game after Qarabag,” Conte told reporters following Chelsea’s 4-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
“It is important to have all the senior players in good form without injuries.”
Victor Moses limped off in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace back in October and missed Nigeria’s dead rubber World Cup qualification match against Algeria last week, as well as the remarkable 4-2 win against Argentina in a friendly match days later. Moses also missed Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Manchester United just before the international break as well as last Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing of West Brom. He also missed the two Champions League matches Chelsea played during this period – both against AS Roma.
Summer purchase Davide Zappacosta has done well in the absence of Victor Moses at right wingback and it remains to be seen if Conte will recall the Nigerian back to the starting lineup immediately or not.
