Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had the only really good chance of the first half as both teams mostly cancelled each other out. Swansea did not get any shots on goal in the first half while Arsenal managed only 2.
The second half saw both teams do well in going for a win, but Arsenal came off the better side with 2 deserved goals. Arsenal move back up into 5th place with the win on 50 points (2 ahead of Everton) and are now 2 points behind Chelsea in fourth place.
Today’s win for Arsenal keeps their hopes of a fourth place finish well and truly alive. They looked like a team that wanted to win and I think their desire is what took them through for the win. Swansea did well to stay in the game, but seemed to tire towards the end. They have already qualified for Europe next season and are close enough to safety that they don’t have the same drive as the Gunners.
