Premier League Preview for Manchester City v Tottenham along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are separated by only one point with Spurs edging City with 20 points. Both teams have six wins with Tottenham compiling two draws and three losses compared to Man City’s one draw and four losses.
In the first 11 games this season Manchester City has scored a league high 28 goals while allowing 12. Tottenham has allowed the second fewest goals in the league with six and has compiled seven clean sheets. Where they have struggled is in their ability to score having scored only nine goals. They have yet to score more than two goals, which has only come in two matches (one home and one away). Compare this to Manchester City who actually average three goals per match. This increases to four in home matches. At home they even have a 21% conversion rate while averaging 18.4 shots per game. Tottenham has only a 4% conversion rate on the road with 0.8 goals per game from 18 shots per game.
My prediction is a for another Manchester City home win. In their last 38 matches they are undefeated in 36. In the last six matches between these clubs City has won four, drawn one and one win going to Spurs. That one came in their 3-1 home win near the end of the season. There are many conflicting statistics to look at including Manchester City scoring at least two goals in each of their last six home EPL matches while Tottenham has kept a clean sheet in each of their last three away matches.
While I’m predicting a win for Manchester City this is one match that could go either way. City could run rampant and put three or four past Spurs, or Tottenham could keep another clean sheet and nick a goal for yet another 1-0 win.
Betting Odds: Man City win: 1.66-1.70; Draw: 3.83-4.13; Spurs win: 5.11-5.78
