Premier League Preview for West Ham United v Chelsea along with Predictions for every result in the EPL. Follow up each match with results and video highlights posted later in the week.
West Ham’s recent form has not been good. They are currently winless in nine of their last ten matches. The last four have seen them lose two and draw two. The two draws ended 0-0 while they lost at home and away 3-1. Ravel Morrison has done well, but he is only one player and they have missed having an out and out striker.
Chelsea are currently undefeated in 17 of their last 19 matches in the Premier League. This season they have scored 18 goals and are in fourth place. Prior to the international break they had been on a bit of a skid with an away 2-0 loss to Newcastle United and a 2-2 draw to West Brom. This last result should have been a loss, but Chelsea were saved by some poor refereeing to get a penalty in stoppage time.
My prediction is for a Chelsea win. The break may not have been relaxing for all of their players, but it should be enough to get the Blues back on track. West Ham could pull off a draw with their highly defensive setup. Chelsea has been frustrated by other teams setting up with this in mind and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Allardyce try out a 4-6-0 setup again.
Betting Odds: West Ham win: 5.43-6.35; Draw: 3.82-4.13; Chelsea: 1.64-1.67
Form: West Ham (L, W, L, D, D, L) Chelsea (D, W, W, W, L, D)
