If you are anything like me then you don’t like to take a -4 hit when making your fantasy Premier League transfers. Whenever possible I prepare for gameweeks two weeks at a time and try to only use the one free transfer per week so that I am able to stockpile my transfers. With week 27 featuring just eight matches and week 30 down to six it’s been a bit more difficult to do this, still, it has been a long time since I’ve taken a hit and I’m starting to see more green arrows.
For my week 27 FPL tips I’m going to review preparing for the week 30 blanks to help you get ready. If you are truly ambitious then this is also an excellent time to think ahead to the possible week 34 double gameweek as well.
For week 27 this weekend Everton, Liverpool, Man City, and Newcastle all have blank gameweeks leaving all of their players on the bench. My current team looks like this:
My plan for gameweek 27 is to make a straight swap of Romelu Lukaku out for Jaime Vardy. This allows me to keep Vardy and Riyad Mahrez till the end of the season with their 12 Premier League only matches left. In the next three weeks they have highly favorable matches against Norwich and West Brom at home followed by Watford away.
My other changes to the lineup include dropping Sergio Aguero and Aleksandar Kolarov to the bench to bring in Matt Targett and possibly putting Dusan Tadic in for Cameron Borthwick-Jackson. There are definitely problems with these moves, especially with Southampton playing late Saturday and Manchester United playing on Sunday morning, meaning that either one of these two may not play. CBJ is currently listed as probably with 75% chance of playing, but is going up against the formidable Arsenal offense. Tadic, the most recent target of my FPL failures over on Togga, has not been starting regularly and may or may not play against Chelsea.
Still, I would rather take a chance with either of these two, than to take a -4 hit at this point. My plan at this point is to captain Vardy in the hopes that he nets a hat trick. Here is my team as it stands ready for gameweek 27:
All of this still sets me up well for week 30 where I can swap Kolarov and Aguero back in and have time to make any necessary transfers to replace Odion Ighalo, Dimitri Payet, and/or Mesut Ozil should Arsenal advance and also have a match in week 30. At this time week 30 will have just six matches, but this could drop to five if Arsenal beat Hull City in their replay.
If this happens then the following teams would be off in week 30: Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, Sunderland, Watford, West Brom, and West Ham United. Just remember that all of these teams will be making up matches later in the season with rumors having that match taking place in week 34.
Hopefully some of these FPL tips help you out in preparing your team for both week 27 and week 30. Good luck and have fun!
